Mexico City, Mexico — Shiji, the global leader in hospitality technology, and the National Association of Hotel Chains (ANCH) held the IT Assembly at Shiji’s offices: Technology Trends in Hospitality 2026. The event, supported by global leaders such as Amadeus, Adyen, AWS, and Ubicua Soluciones, brought together the industry’s top technology executives to chart the course of digital transformation in Mexico.

In this context, the Assembly fostered strategic analysis and the exchange of experiences among the sector’s leading innovation profiles, addressing critical solutions in cybersecurity, digital payments, and artificial intelligence developed by Shiji and its technology partners.

The IT Assembly: Technology Trends in Hospitality 2026 has established itself as the key forum for defining the sector’s digital roadmap. Our goal is for every innovation, from artificial intelligence to the cloud, to translate into a real competitive advantage for hotel chains in Mexico. lejandra Pueblita, Country Manager of Shiji Mexico

The event gathered representatives managing nearly 35% of the country’s organized hotel supply, underscoring that investment in digital transformation generates returns within an average of 14 months and improves operational efficiency by up to 15%.

The IT Assembly reflects Shiji’s vision of driving the strategic conversation around technology in the hospitality industry, creating a space to share trends, real-world cases, and best practices. Through this platform, Shiji reaffirms its commitment to supporting hotels throughout their entire technological transformation process, from assessment and implementation to daily operations, with a hands-on approach that prioritizes real adoption and operational impact.

This progress does not occur in isolation. Currently, Shiji, in close collaboration with ANCH, Amadeus, Adyen, AWS, and Ubicua Soluciones, is leading a joint initiative to accelerate the digital maturity of tourism in Mexico. This alliance integrates cloud infrastructure, global distribution systems, next-generation payment solutions, and specialized consulting, forming a robust technological ecosystem to address the challenges of an increasingly demanding market.

For ANCH, digital transformation will be a determining factor in strengthening the sector’s competitiveness over the next five years. The implementation of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and cloud systems is redefining the operations of its 32 affiliated chains, encompassing more than 1,600 properties and 250,000 rooms nationwide. These tools enable more efficient management and data-driven decision-making, positioning the sector as a benchmark within the digital economy.

From ANCH’s perspective, technology has become a strategic enabler of responsible tourism. Through cloud-based solutions and highly energy-efficient data centers, hotel chains are advancing toward an “invisible infrastructure” that reduces material and energy consumption, enables carbon footprint monitoring, and optimizes resources, aligning operations with ESG criteria and long-term environmental commitments.

During the event, key pillars for the sector’s modernization were addressed, with particular emphasis on sessions covering Digital Payments and Cybersecurity, as well as the impact of Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Technology. These presentations, delivered by experts from Amadeus, Adyen, AWS, and Ubicua Soluciones, explored how technology integration strengthens operational efficiency and builds guest trust in the digital environment.

For ANCH, cybersecurity has evolved from an operational expense into an essential strategic investment. In a sector that generates more than 300,000 direct jobs in Mexico, data protection, fraud prevention, and reservation system security are critical to preserving reputation and traveler trust.

Hand in hand with Shiji and its strategic partners, Mexico’s hotel sector is not only embracing the future, it is building it, ensuring that digitalization becomes a key tool for delivering safer, more efficient, and people-centered experiences.
