Austin, TX - Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals (HFTP®) is proud to announce that founder and president of OPUS 2 Revenue Technologies, Inc., Eric B. Orkin, has been selected as the 2002 HFTP International Hospitality Technology Hall of Fame inductee. Orkin was selected for his involvement in the growth and use of revenue management and central reservation systems. Orkin will be inducted into the Hall of Fame at this year's HITEC® (Hospitality Industry Technology Exposition and Conference) * the world's largest hospitality technology conference. HITEC 2002 will be held June 25-27 at McCormick Place, in Chicago. He will be honored at the HITEC Award Ceremony at 9:15 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25.
"Eric's intelligence and his understanding of how this technology could be applied and should be applied to hotels are unmatched in the industry," said Cindy Estis Green, managing partner for the Estis Group. "He was able to translate the sophisticated capability of technology into a workable solution when the industry was still viewing technology as a support to accounting … Eric is so passionate about revenue management that his enthusiasm and intensity about its use was very instrumental in making this discipline a standard in the hotel industry today."
